About
I care deeply about people and animals across the globe.
I'm a licensed Clinical Psychologist in Missouri. I have worked in inpatient and outpatient settings, providing individual, family, and group therapy, as well as psychological assessments for people with depression, anxiety, psychosis, personality disorders, PTSD, and more. In college counseling centers, I have supported clients seeking therapy for personal growth and self-exploration. I use a client-centered approach, integrating cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), trauma processing, and solution-focused techniques to tailor treatment to each person's needs.
I was educated in Japan and the U.S., studying in Oregon, Washington, and California. I earned an APA-accredited doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, specializing in cross-cultural and international psychology. I value cultural diversity and am published in human-animal interactions and international psychology.
Through therapy, I aim to support your personal growth and help you lead a fulfilling life. I am committed to being a steady source of support during difficult times, helping you strengthen your coping skills and cultivate a renewed sense of hope, purpose, and meaning in life.

With Thriveworks, Online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy services in which a client can speak to a Thriveworks therapist remotely via online video conferencing. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person treatment, but they can also provide added benefits like reduced travel time, saving money on transportation or childcare, and increased access to care.
Online therapy works much like traditional in-person therapy but takes place through secure video conferencing. Clients can attend Online therapy from any safe place they choose that has access to the internet, whether that be their home or another easily accessible place. Like in-person treatment, a therapist will work with their client to address their concerns, create goals, and establish an effective treatment plan.
There is no best option for online therapy—instead, it’s best to focus on finding a provider that meets your specific needs and with whom you can form a professional connection with.
Yes, online therapy is just as effetive for many clients as in-person sessions.
Online therapy can last for a few months to years depending on the goals and symptoms of the client. The treatment process will be unique to each client and lend itself to their specific concerns, which means that the time it takes to treat them will always be different. Timing is also up to the client themselves; they are free to stop therapy whenever they please, especially if they feel they have reached their goals and addressed their concerns.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.
When was the last time you checked in with yourself mentally? Today? Last week? Last month? Last year?
While we don’t always open up about how we’re feeling, we do all experience a range of emotions on a weekly or even daily basis. Maybe a coworker put the blame on you for a project they didn’t finish. Maybe you’re waiting for your partner to get dinner with you later so you can talk about why you’ve been bickering a lot more recently.
The takeaway is that we all encounter emotional struggles and mental health challenges that negatively affect our wellbeing. Fortunately, we’re able to learn how to manage these difficult emotions and situations to preserve our mental wellbeing.
Ask yourself how you’re really doing. Is there anything you’d like to change, improve on, or overcome? Counselors, therapists, and psychologists all have unique skills, training, and experience to help people with all of these problems.
If you’re tired of sweeping your emotions under the rug and pushing your mental wellbeing aside, consider working with an online counselor at Thriveworks Counseling in Kansas City, MO. Our providers can help you work through many of your life issues, all from the comfort and convenience of your own home. When you’re ready to get started, just give our office a call.
