About
I see counseling as intrinsically interwoven with empowerment. It is a space that appreciates the value of people coming as they are-- human and authentic. It is understanding the importance of unconditional acceptance, and in that space, feeling seen, heard and known. It is a remarkable channel for inspiring exchanges of mutual empathy and a space where individuals can find their voice and speak unapologetically about the experiences in their lives where they have previously been silenced.
I earned my Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at NC State University. I am a fully licensed LCMHC (licensed clinical mental health counselor) with 6 years of clinical experience counseling a vast population varying in age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, personal beliefs and cultural norms. I deeply value my work with individuals processing trauma and PTSD and feel equally fulfilled providing support to individuals with mood disorders, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders, personality disorders, grief and loss as well as in areas related to self-worth, identity and self-esteem.
Jennifer earned her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from North Carolina State University. Her clinical style is heavily rooted in a person-centered and humanistic foundation with a breadth of trauma-informed modalities.
I believe in the importance of integrating interventions and theories to account for the unique nature each person brings. I draw from psychodynamic theory so clients can understand present day beliefs and behaviors by exploring and unpacking their past. I encourage clients to make connections to help them make sense of “the why” behind the behavior.
I appreciate the simplicity in complex things and view counseling in similar terms. People need people. We were never meant to brace this world without support. Human connection is not just a basic need; it is vital to living a life with meaning. I see counseling as a pathway to connection, knowing we are not alone and we never have to suffer in silence.

"I became a nurse because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of others and give back to the community. I decided to become a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner because I felt that it would give me the opportunity to do more for the population that I serve and assist them with their goals of healing while helping to ease their suffering," says Natasha. "I appreciate the uniqueness of every individual I encounter and my style of practice ranges from prescribing up-to-date psychiatric medications or natural treatments to include but not limited to modifications to lifestyle, vitamins, supplements, exercise, nutrition, and stress management."

Codependency therapy with our Thriveworks Greensboro therapists helps people reduce and overcome codependent habits, which involve sacrificing one’s own needs to meet the needs of others (usually those closest to them). It helps to improve one’s well-being as well as the health of their relationships.
Codependency therapy works by helping the individual recognize, understand, and accept codependent patterns — including why and how they might’ve developed. In addition, it focuses on helping the individual to kick these tendencies and build more balanced relationships that allow them to support others without neglecting their own needs.
Codependency therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and via Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
Codependent counseling can last for a few weeks, months, or longer. It depends on the exact needs of the client as well as the severity of their codependent challenges and other needs or preferences.
Codependent individuals may:
These are a few examples of the feelings that someone would experience if they truly needed to seek out codependency counseling or therapy for dependent personality disorder. As with all psychological disorders, simply being able to check off one of the items in the questionnaire does not necessarily mean you have this condition.
Of course, if you resonate with all of these conditions it may be in your best interest to seek out help. We are happy to offer this help for codependency and dependent personality disorder, here at Thriveworks Counseling in Greensboro.
If you are concerned that you might suffer from codependency or dependent personality disorder, then it is imperative that you start to investigate which avenues of help are available to you under the circumstances.
Codependency therapy and dependent personality disorder counseling can give you great benefits. When you work with the therapist you get to work comfortably with someone who will help you to find the root cause of your psychological condition.
Once that root cause is identified they will help you to find ways to alleviate the condition as much as possible so that you can start living a life without any negative ramifications.
If you feel that codependency counseling or therapy for different personality disorders is advantageous for you, contact us and arrange your first session with one of our trained professionals.
