About
As a clinical sport psychologist, I value taking into account the role of biology and sociology in mental health and wellness.
Tony Tucci is a Licensed Clinical Sport Psychologist with 11 years of experience in the field. He currently provides therapy, mental skills coaching, and performance coaching. Tony is passionate about helping individuals develop more effective habits to help them reach their goals in life. He has extensive experience in a variety of settings with a variety of populations. Tony specializes in work with anxiety, panic, phobias, depression, and trauma/stressor disorders.
Tony completed his Master of Counseling Psychology degree at Assumption College before starting a dual-degree program at John F. Kennedy University. There, Tony completed his second degree, which was a Master of Sport Psychology degree. After this, Tony completed his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. Throughout schooling, Tony interned at many different sites including residential treatment centers for adults and children with developmental disabilities, juvenile detention centers, outpatient therapy clinics, and inpatient sites. Tony utilizes a BioPsychoSocial Model and takes an integrative approach to therapy by using many aspects of different theories to meet the person where they currently stand in their mental health work.
Many individuals are impacted by life stressors through no fault of their own. These experiences can cause one to develop ineffective habits to stay safe, feel comfortable, or feel in control in the short term, only to learn later in life that these safety habits have led to long-term struggles. Tony's goal is to help individuals identify life goals and develop more effective habits to help them achieve these goals. If you are ready to begin developing more effective habits so you can achieve your goals, then please reach out to meet with Tony today.

Trauma therapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on treating the psychological impact of traumatic events on individuals. Trauma therapy helps people process and heal from their trauma by guiding them through their trauma in a compassionate and supportive way, allowing clients to feel the full scope of what happened to them and eventually move on from the event(s). This process helps people who have experienced trauma find ways to feel safe in their lives.
Trauma therapy will often require individuals to walk through their experiences in a controlled and compassionate setting (unless the client has a dissociative disorder) so that they can fully process the event, an activity that will allow them to move on from what happened and feel safe again. Thriveworks Franklin therapists will also help clients learn healthy coping mechanisms to deal with their symptoms outside of therapy.
Thriveworks trauma counseling in Franklin, MA is conducted both in person and online through online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
If an individual is working through a single event that occurred during adulthood, they may only need a few months of treatment. However, in instances of childhood trauma or repeated traumatic events, therapy may continue over the course of years. Trauma therapy usually ends when the client believes they have met their therapeutic goals, however long that takes to occur. Thriveworks therapists in Franklin, MA will continue to provide care for as long as necessary to help clients meet their therapeutic needs.
A traumatic event is something no one deserves to go through. It can stay with a person for months and years after, impacting their mental, emotional, and physical health. But these impacts are not permanent. As much as trauma can hurt, it does not control your life. You are not at fault for what happened to you, but you can control how you heal.
Thriveworks Franklin wants you to know that you are not alone, and together we can come out of this stronger than before. We don’t have to stop living or healing. Thriveworks Franklin offers online therapy and in-person therapy you can connect with a licensed, professional counselor in the format of your choosing.
If you would like to schedule an online therapy session or have questions about how online counseling for trauma therapy works, call Thriveworks Franklin at (617) 360-7210.
Our counselors will meet you where you’re at. This means wherever you are coming from or whatever your goals are for your mental health, we will work with you to build the life you want to live. Trauma affects the brain by destroying healthy synapses and creating unhealthy ones. Synapses are the highways information travels down in your brain. The good news is your brain is incredibly flexible. Trauma molded it but therapy can mold it back to a healthy state. Thriveworks Franklin has years of training and experience in trauma counseling to help you overcome your past. Changing the session to a virtual, online therapy session will not change the effectiveness of the process.
The trauma that you endured is in no way your fault. No one deserves to go through a trauma or live with the symptoms after it. Your resilience, strength, and courage inspires us every day. You deserve to take the time to heal and create a safe, healthy future. Thriveworks Amherst will be with you every step of the way.
