About
As a counselor who has struggled with ADHD and social anxiety, I understand the impact that mental health can have on daily life.
Before earning my master’s degree in counseling education, I worked with autistic children in a clinical setting and teenagers in an inpatient setting. I primarily work with children and adolescents experiencing anger, anxiety, and depression, particularly those with ADHD or autism. I also have experience working with adults and families.
I believe in building a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel comfortable enough for me to be honest, direct, and straightforward when needed. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused Therapy, to meet each client where they are and tailor treatment to their individual needs.
I don’t just believe that people have the power to change—I know they do. I’ve seen it happen. When we work together toward a goal that is meaningful to you, I believe you can make lasting, meaningful change.

Hello, I'm Katrenia White-Law, MA, LCPC, a Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to helping individuals, couples, families, and adolescents navigate life's challenges with compassion, evidence-based care, and practical solutions. With years of experience in behavioral health, community mental health, family systems, substance use treatment, and telehealth counseling, I have had the privilege of working with clients facing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief, relationship conflict, addiction, life transitions, emotional regulation difficulties, and family stress.
Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward. Others are seeking healthier relationships, improved communication, greater self-confidence, recovery from addiction, or effective coping strategies to manage stress and create lasting change.
My goal is to provide a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, build resilience, develop new skills, and move toward healing, hope, and a more fulfilling life.

I believe that everyone has the ability to grow and create meaningful change, and I use a compassionate, strengths-based approach to help clients feel confident as they navigate life's challenges.
Hi, I'm an LPC and NCC with a Master of Science in Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University and three years of experience. I've had the privilege of working with elementary, middle, and high school students, as well as adults of all ages, supporting them through anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship challenges, and self-esteem concerns. Whether you're navigating school, career, family responsibilities, or personal growth, I believe each person's experiences and goals are unique. I work to create a supportive environment where clients can feel seen, heard, and empowered to make positive changes.
My approach is collaborative, goal-oriented, and supportive. I specialize in working with middle to late adolescents and adults, integrating CBT, SFBT, and Reality Therapy to help clients recognize patterns and build on strengths. I believe therapy is a partnership, and clients can expect a warm, nonjudgmental, culturally responsive space focused on growth.
I understand that beginning therapy can feel like a big step, and I strive to make the process welcoming and comfortable. My goal is to help clients feel seen, heard, and supported as they navigate life's challenges and work toward the changes they want. If you are ready to begin your journey toward growth, I would be honored to support you along the way.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

With Thriveworks, Online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy services in which a client can speak to a Thriveworks therapist remotely via online video conferencing. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person treatment, but they can also provide added benefits like reduced travel time, saving money on transportation or childcare, and increased access to care.
Online therapy works much like traditional in-person therapy but takes place through secure video conferencing. Clients can attend Online therapy from any safe place they choose that has access to the internet, whether that be their home or another easily accessible place. Like in-person treatment, a therapist will work with their client to address their concerns, create goals, and establish an effective treatment plan.
There is no best option for online therapy—instead, it’s best to focus on finding a provider that meets your specific needs and with whom you can form a professional connection with.
Yes, online therapy is just as effetive for many clients as in-person sessions.
Online therapy can last for a few months to years depending on the goals and symptoms of the client. The treatment process will be unique to each client and lend itself to their specific concerns, which means that the time it takes to treat them will always be different. Timing is also up to the client themselves; they are free to stop therapy whenever they please, especially if they feel they have reached their goals and addressed their concerns.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.
If you’re struggling with a mental health issue like depression or anxiety, you’re not alone. In any given year, it’s estimated that more than a quarter of Americans suffer from a mental disorder. It’s no surprise considering how many stresses we deal with in modern life, including finances, relationships, and career changes. But despite how common these issues are, many people don’t get the help they need because they don’t seek it out in the first place.
Advancements in the internet and streaming video technology have changed the ways we interact with each other and counseling is no different. As many people feel more comfortable obtaining other services online, online therapy has become an increasingly popular option for those who may have simply put it off otherwise. Help is available online if you’ve been struggling with mental health issues. The licensed professionals at Thriveworks Counseling in Baton Rouge, LA are here to help you work towards the life you want with online counseling services. Reach out today to get started.
Most clients don’t find traditional therapy and virtual therapy to have any significant differences in terms of outcomes. Although you may not be in the same physical space as your licensed counselor, you can receive the same benefits of talk therapy as you would face-to-face.
We offer a wide variety of online therapy services at Thriveworks Counseling, such as:
Whether you’re dealing with a crisis in your life or you have had long-term problems like generalized anxiety or relationship issues, an online therapist can develop a personalized treatment plan to help you reach your goals. If you’d like to experience the difference a licensed therapist can make in your life, contact us at Thriveworks Counseling in Baton Rouge, LA to get started.
Video therapy is a preferable option for many clients. It can be easier to build a trusting emotional connection with your therapist when you can make eye contact. This works both ways as it will be easier for them to read your body language and pick up small nuances.
For people who are struggling with anxiety, visiting a counseling center might exacerbate the problem. The idea of visiting someplace new to speak about intensely personal issues can cause some people to have second thoughts. In these cases, online counseling can be incredibly beneficial. You may even find it easier to open up to your therapist when you’re in the comfort of your own home rather than sitting in an office.
If you’ve been considering seeing a licensed therapist, you don’t have to put it off any longer. Licensed mental health professionals are standing by to offer helpful guidance at Thriveworks Counseling in Baton Rouge, LA.
At Thriveworks Counseling, we’re dedicated to helping people get the mental and emotional help they need. This is why offering online counseling is very important to us.
