Career counseling, sometimes called career coaching, helps individuals make informed career decisions. This type of counseling is led by one of our Athens therapists who is trained to provide career development support.
Career counseling works to help you navigate your professional career and offer valuable information, such as required skill sets and/or education, regarding a particular position you may be considering. The following are common focuses of conversation that will help your career counselor best help you:
Career counseling at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and via Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
Career counseling can last for weeks, months, or even years. It all depends on the goals that you’re looking to accomplish and whether you continue to want/need a counselor to help you reach your goals. Either way, our career counselors are here and ready to help you get on the right track.
Choosing a career path used to be a simple process years ago. Young people would pick their chosen vocation, find a job after school, and then stick with it for life. Back in the day, folks would often work for the same company till they retired. Aside from Japan, there aren’t too many “job’s for life” options out there anymore.
Deciding on a new career or a change in profession half way through your life can be a painful process for anyone who is ill-prepared. It makes perfect sense for anyone struggling in the job market to reach out and seek professional help. A good career counseling service can often guide people and help them move forward with new confidence. If you think you could benefit from career counseling services, reach out to Thriveworks Athens today.
The biggest obstacle with finding a new career is uncertainty, and that can manifest in three ways:
Joblessness or job indecision can hinder a person to the point of paralysis. The longer this uncertainty goes on for the more challenging the ordeal becomes.
Vocational counseling has assisted many people in overcoming their self-doubts and challenges. What it does is give people the tools to restart their lives and begin on a new and more optimistic path. It can help the indecisive one become more decisive and more proactive. Often, all anyone needs is a little steering in the right direction. Career guidance is usually able to do just that.
Any effective plan has to be set out in two ways:
Athens counseling offers a range of services aimed at helping people of all ages find their footing. Our service shows people how to take back charge of their lives and move forward with renewed confidence.
