About
Having been an intensive care unit nurse for over 10 years, I have developed an understanding of and empathy for the special circumstances that patients find themselves in, and I have compassion built into my interactions with my clients.
Why did you decide to become a counselor or psychiatric provider?
In the course of my personal dealings with patients and their family members as a Family Nurse Practitioner, I became sensitized by the isolation and stigma felt in society by those with mental health issues. I felt inclined to explore more and provide the needed help. Also, my exposure to family members and friends dealing with mental health issues has had a profound impact on my pursuit of more knowledge and awareness of mental health.
What's one thing you wish all clients knew?
"That they are not alone".
Why did you choose to practice at Thriveworks?
To prioritize my community and make a difference in the mental healthcare space.
What inspires you?
Alleviating the Mental Health Care stigma and providing patient-centered care that inspires a feeling of improvement after every encounter.
What can clients expect in their first session with you?
Getting to know one another, assessing possible diagnosis and providing an understanding of the fundamentals of treatment.
What do you want to accomplish with an individual in their first session?
To understand the patient's thought process and provide available support and resources.
What should clients know about you before scheduling a first session?
My qualifications and my commitment to their care and treatment goals.
What do you do for fun/on your time off?
I enjoy cooking, spending time with family, listening to music and traveling
What's one thing about you that defines you (non-professional)?
Empathetic

I use coping skills such as deep breathing and exercise (especially walking) for recurrent anxious feelings. I try to inhale for about 5 seconds and exhale for 7 seconds- doing this technique helps my body shift toward a calmer state. I try to exercise 3 times a week for 30 minutes- during exercise, I talk positively to myself (e.g. I can do it. I'm strong). Using motivation helps me achieve my goals and reduces my anxious feelings.
My name is Fadeke Oladeji, and I am a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I earned my Master of Science in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from Walden University, and I am board certified and licensed to provide mental health care across the lifespan. I have experience caring for populations with a wide range of mental health conditions in outpatient clinics, community mental health, substance use clinics, primary care, and telehealth settings. Prior to obtaining my nurse practitioner license, I worked as a registered nurse in the emergency room, primary care, and mental health outpatient/inpatient settings.
As a PMHNP, I provide psychiatric evaluations, diagnoses (depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, insomnia, ADHD), medication management, patient education, and supportive care with evidence-based treatment.
I have a strong belief in treating individuals by considering biological, psychological, and social factors, partnering with patients on treatment plans that align with their goals. I'm committed to a safe, respectful, nonjudgmental environment where patients feel heard and supported. I look forward to collaborating with patients to achieve great outcomes.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

OCD counseling is a specialized therapeutic approach aimed at supporting individuals coping with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). The goal of this counseling is to help clients manage and alleviate the distressing symptoms of OCD by systematically addressing their obsessive thought patterns and compulsive behaviors.
In OCD counseling, Thriveworks Annapolis therapists use cognitive behavioral techniques, including exposure and response prevention, to assist you in addressing and managing your obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors. An OCD therapist will collaborate with you to identify and modify irrational thought patterns while gradually and gently exposing you to anxiety-triggering situations, helping to disrupt the cycle of obsessive-compulsive rituals and promote healthier coping strategies.
Thriveworks OCD counseling in Annapolis, MD is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
The number of sessions for OCD counseling is variable, contingent upon the individual’s unique needs, the severity of their condition, and their progress during treatment. Typically, Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), commonly used for OCD, comprises around 12 to 16 weekly sessions, but the exact session count can be customized based on the individual’s response to treatment and therapeutic objectives. Some opt for a more extended duration to comprehensively manage symptoms and address complex issues.
