What is your go-to approach for anxiety therapy?

My go-to approach for treating anxiety is cognitive behavioral therapy. There is a lot of evidence that CBT is very effective for treating anxiety. With this approach, clients learn ways to reduce and manage their anxiety so they can live more fulfilling lives.

My go-to approach for working with clients who are suffering from depression is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I have seen clients benefit greatly from what CBT has to offer.

What tools do you teach in anxiety therapy?

Some of the tools that I teach in therapy are mindfulness techniques, breathing strategies, stress management, cognitive restructuring strategies, and communication skills. With clients who are interested, I also will use exposure therapy strategies to help reduce their anxiety in anxiety-provoking situations.

I teach a variety of tools when working with clients struggling with depression, such as:

  • Strategies for better recognizing our thoughts, understanding how these impact us, our mood, and our lives.
  • Mindfulness techniques
  • Breathing strategies
  • Stress management
  • Goal setting and problem-solving methods
