About
I support people who feel overwhelmed by stress, conflict, or self-doubt, and I bring a steady, practical approach shaped by years of clinical work and my commitment to understanding how people grow and change.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 5 years of experience providing clinical care to children, adolescents, and adults. I work with individuals facing stress, anxiety, trauma histories, emotional regulation challenges, and strained family relationships. Many clients seek support during major life transitions or want help understanding patterns that keep them feeling stuck. My approach is practical, goal-oriented, and focused on steady progress.
I earned my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Thomas University. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and a direct, structured approach. I help clients build emotional control, reduce avoidance, and shift unhelpful thinking patterns, with experience supporting trauma-related stress, anxiety, and family conflict.
You deserve support that feels steady, respectful, and focused on what matters most to you. I provide an environment where experiences are taken seriously, goals are clearly defined, and progress continues between sessions. If you are ready to work toward meaningful change at a pace that fits your needs, I welcome you to reach out and begin the work together.

Catherine Roberts is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 22 years of experience in the mental health field. She understands the unique issues of clients with different personal, ethnic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.
Catherine enjoys working with clients who are experiencing self-identity, interpersonal relational issues that affect their job and family dynamics. This is her ideal type of client to work with because there is a lot of self-exploration the client will need to work on first. Some of the issues that will come up are self-loathing, lack of esteem, shame, and poor self-image. As a clinician, Catherine provides them support and total acceptance. When the client can begin to embrace and accept who they are without judgment, they can begin to work on how they relate to other people in all areas of their life. This can be done slowly and one step at a time. The pace is usually set by the client and how they progress along in treatment as they embrace each stage of their new self.
Catherine began her career in the mental health field as a therapist in an inpatient facility, responsible for the patient's ongoing clinical progress while at the hospital. Her patients varied in ages from 10 to 12-year-old children, to 13 to 17-year-old adolescents, to 18 to 55-year-old adults, and seniors who were in crisis. She worked with patients who were diagnosed with Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Anxiety, Major Depression, Obsessive Impulsive Disorder, ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Mood Disorder, Alcohol/Drug Dependency, Conduct Disorder, and Sleep disorder, just to name a few.
Catherine really enjoys getting to know people while working with them on their unique concerns. She offers a very supportive and client-centered environment to therapy, and she loves helping clients move toward their goals by being a partner in their journey towards a renewed self and clinically appropriate treatment. She enjoys working with clients and assigning them research-based homework activities to help them work independently on areas of concerns outside of the sessions. Her areas of specialty include cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), mindfulness, motivational interviewing, interpersonal therapy, and other researched based therapeutic approaches that are appropriate to treatment.
You deserve dedicated time with a mental health professional — it can be life-changing.

The number of life coaching sessions someone attends can differ based on the coach and the client’s choices. How many sessions are needed and how often they occur often hinges on the client’s objectives and the complexity of their concerns. Some clients might opt for a few sessions to tackle particular goals or issues, while others may decide on ongoing coaching sessions to work on personal growth and life enhancement over a more extended period of time. Thriveworks Savannah therapists work with clients to create goals and potential timelines for treatment.
Jenny feels that her life is stagnant. She’s worked in the same coffee shop for 5 years, lived in the same apartment for two, and maintained the same daily schedule (for the most part) for a year and a half. While she likes routine and stability, she feels that her life is missing a few essential pieces: growth, excitement, meaning. Finally, Jenny decides to do something about her discontentment—she schedules an appointment with a life coach.
A life coach is someone who counsels others on personal growth and fulfillment. After Jenny explained her problem to her life coach, she realized that this “problem” presented an opportunity. She could reach greater happiness and fulfillment—and her life coach helped her figure out how. Jenny came to the conclusion that it was time to leave her job at the coffee shop. Though she adored it, she wanted to get back into marketing, which she studied in college. Jenny also decided that it was time to explore somewhere new; she packed up her old apartment and found a place to live in a new city where she’d begin her job search too.
“Simply put, coaching is where you work with someone
to connect with yourself, redesign your environment and your life,
and then take action to implement it.” –Emma Louise Elsey

Life coaches are on a mission to guide and support their clients. It’s as simple as that. These professionals differ from counselors in that they focus on personal development. For example, Jenny’s life coach (mentioned above) helped her identify beneficial life changes. The life coaches at Thriveworks want you to find value in their services, too. Here’s how they can prove beneficial:
