Dr. Sumio Shinohara is a Licensed Psychologist (LP) with more than 15 years of experience working with adults, adolescents, and couples seeking help with depression, anxiety, life transitions, men’s issues, trauma/PTSD, mood disorders, grief and loss, and relationship issues. 

Dr. Shinohara earned his Master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Abilene Christian University and completed his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at William James College in MA. He also received his psychoanalytic training at the Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis.

Dr. Shinohara's primary therapeutic approach is eclectic, including person-centered, cognitive behavioral (CBT), and psychodynamic approaches, and values each client's experience of feeling deeply and empathetically understood. Through the experience of feeling understood, clients will also be able to have opportunities to understand more about themselves, which usually brings multiple positive improvements in clients' life.

Her clinical training started on a Domestic Violence team for an outpatient non-profit. She continued her training at a Black and woman-founded telehealth counseling clinic. She has worked with clients from the ages of 18 to 40. Judenie enjoys working with teens transitioning to college, young adults, and adults. She specializes in working with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, and other related challenges.

Judenie completed her master of arts in mental health and wellness counseling from NYU last year. Her passion for youth and community advocacy led her to pursue a career in counseling. She uses strength-based, narrative, person-centered, and mindfulness approaches to help her clients feel heard and seen as she teaches them to advocate for themselves.

Alicia received her B.A. in Society and Health in 2008 from Simmons University. After graduating from undergrad, Alicia worked in retail for two years while volunteering with different non-profit organizations in Boston. Alicia was accepted into the Simmons University School of Social Work in the Fall of 2010 and graduated with her MSW in Spring 2012. As a clinician, Alicia strives to develop a safe and trusting environment while understanding the many complexities and nuances of what it means to be human.
