About
As a person from multiple marginalized communities, my work is grounded in both clinical expertise and lived experience, which helps clients feel respected, understood, and supported.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 20 years of experience providing culturally responsive, evidence-based mental health care. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and emotional challenges. My approach is practical and collaborative, and I value working with individuals who are engaged, consistent, and motivated in their therapeutic process.
I earned my master’s degree in counseling from the University of Memphis. My work integrates cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-informed care, and strength-based approaches. I focus on skill-building strategies while also exploring patterns and experiences that influence current thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Therapy is a space for growth, clarity, and meaningful change. If you are seeking practical tools, steady support, and a counselor who will walk alongside you, I am here to help. Together, we can work toward building the change you have been hoping for, one step at a time.

My go-to approach for helping people in online therapy is person-centered counseling, which maximizes the advantages of online/remote therapy in this highly technological age. I enjoy online therapy because it allows the flexibility to work with clients who may not be able to meet in-person due to extenuating circumstances.
I teach the following tools in online therapy: anger management, anxiety reduction and stress management, boundaries, decision-making, goal-setting, interpersonal skills, faith-based counseling, obsessive-compulsive disorder coping techniques, etc.
I know a client is making meaningful progress in online therapy when the client remains engaged through verbal and nonverbal prompts and responses, along with completion of homework assignments.
Clients can supplement their time in online therapy by reading or studying pertinent articles or materials about their particular condition/issue and completing homework assignments as needed.
To prepare for starting online therapy, the client should be in a private, safe, secure, and comfortable place for the session. Additionally, the client can test their technological device to ensure its proper operation and equipment functionality.
With Thriveworks, Online therapy is an effective alternative to in-person therapy services in which a client can speak to a Thriveworks therapist remotely via online video conferencing. Online sessions are just as effective as in-person treatment, but they can also provide added benefits like reduced travel time, saving money on transportation or childcare, and increased access to care.
Online therapy works much like traditional in-person therapy but takes place through secure video conferencing. Clients can attend Online therapy from any safe place they choose that has access to the internet, whether that be their home or another easily accessible place. Like in-person treatment, a therapist will work with their client to address their concerns, create goals, and establish an effective treatment plan.
There is no best option for online therapy—instead, it’s best to focus on finding a provider that meets your specific needs and with whom you can form a professional connection with.
Yes, online therapy is just as effetive for many clients as in-person sessions.
Online therapy can last for a few months to years depending on the goals and symptoms of the client. The treatment process will be unique to each client and lend itself to their specific concerns, which means that the time it takes to treat them will always be different. Timing is also up to the client themselves; they are free to stop therapy whenever they please, especially if they feel they have reached their goals and addressed their concerns.
At Thriveworks, we accept most major insurance plans, allowing many clients to pay as little as $0–$50 per session with their co-pay. We also offer self-pay options for those out-of-network or without insurance. Self-pay rates for talk therapy range from $160 to $240 for intake sessions and $135 to $195 for follow-ups, depending on your state. For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. More information on current self-pay costs is available on our pricing page.
