About
I believe healing begins with being truly seen and heard, so I create a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their stories, rediscover their strength, and grow toward lasting change.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 6 years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through seasons of change, healing, and growth. I work with clients navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, and life transitions, helping them build insight, strengthen communication, and develop healthier connections with themselves and others. My clients often come to therapy seeking peace, balance, and the confidence to live more authentically as we work toward meaningful, lasting change together.
I earned my master’s in secondary education and clinical mental health counseling from Alcorn State University. My approach is collaborative and grounded in empathy, using cognitive behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and mindfulness techniques to help clients identify unhelpful patterns, build emotional awareness, and foster sustainable growth.
I understand that reaching out for support takes courage, and I want my clients to know they don’t have to walk this journey alone. Together, we can create space for healing, self-discovery, and renewed hope—one step at a time. When you’re ready, I would be honored to walk alongside you in that process.

My go-to approach for treating depression is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I find the best benefit in CBT because it helps identify and reshape the thought and behavior patterns that contribute to depression.
I teach the following tools in depression counseling:
I know a client is making meaningful progress in depression counseling when their symptoms are assessed as decreased, daily function improves, and relapses are limited.
Clients can supplement their time in depression counseling with coping tools to help them through life’s challenges. Therapy teaches clients to become aware of and adjust negative patterns, which can help them reframe their thinking during moments of heightened anxiety or panic. It can also provide new coping skills, like meditation or journaling, for those struggling with depression.
To prepare for your first depression counseling session, you can:

Depression is a mood disorder, meaning it’s a disorder that primarily affects your emotional state. That’s why people can’t “snap out of” a depressive disorder. To alleviate the potency of your thoughts during a depressive episode, people usually need guidance and healthy coping mechanisms.
