About
As a woman of color who has personal experience with trauma, I can appreciate how painful and challenging it can be to rebuild and empower ourselves.
I am a licensed professional counselor (LPC) with 17 years of experience supporting individuals navigating depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, bipolar disorder, and other severe and persistent mental health conditions. I also work with clients facing family dynamics, relationship concerns, identity development, and major life transitions. I take a client-centered approach that emphasizes compassion, resilience, and meaningful personal growth.
I earned my master’s degree in mental health counseling from Monmouth University. My work is grounded in trauma-informed care, and I utilize evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, mindfulness-based interventions, and motivational interviewing, alongside reflective and exploratory therapeutic work.
I strive to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, validated, and empowered. Together, we will clarify your values, identify your goals, and work toward meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you. You do not have to navigate life’s challenges alone, and I am here to support you on your healing journey.

I am a male therapist with 10 years of clinical experience. During my career, I have gained extensive training on how to be a multiculturally competent therapist. This has allowed me to work with people of different races, cultures, and ethnic backgrounds. I create an atmosphere of trust with my clients while building a therapeutic relationship. By demonstrating empathy, sympathy, and positive regard, I give my clients a space to be themselves while they work on becoming their better selves.

My go-to approach for helping people in couples/marriage counseling is emotionally focused therapy (EFT) and solution-focused therapy. EFT can help identify destructive patterns in a relationship that begin to interfere with attachments and ultimately prevent two people from bonding. Solution-focused therapy works best for couples who have a specific issue they want to work on in their relationship. The approach is helpful when working towards a short-term relationship goal.
These are some of the tools that I teach in couples/marriage counseling:
I know a client is making meaningful progress in couples/marriage counseling when there is a decrease in re-occurring arguments and the couple is able to resolve conflicts by effectively using techniques learned in couples therapy sessions. A couple's emotional intimacy often increases as well (spending more time together, understanding each other's love language, and prioritizing partner's feelings).
I provide clients with worksheets and homework. This allows clients to reinforce the skills that they learned and spend time discussing areas that need improvement in their relationship.
I encourage couples to identify goals that they want to accomplish before starting couples/marriage counseling. It is important that couples have a clear idea of what they want to accomplish before starting couples therapy. It is also beneficial for each partner to be willing to participate in couples therapy. It is difficult if one partner is willing and the other partner feels pressured or forced to start couples therapy.
Thriveworks Couples therapy helps couples work through their specific relationship issues. It is led by licensed professionals — often licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFTs) — who are experts in their field and best-equipped to help couples. Some examples of common focuses within couples therapy include:
Couples therapy works by helping couples identify and better navigate their unique challenges. Following an initial assessment of the couple in terms of strengths and needs, the therapist would then discuss their therapeutic goals and any possible approaches or ways of working together as therapist and couple.Couples attend sessions together, whether they meet in person or by video. In addition to regular couples therapy sessions, each partner may also be asked to attend a few individual sessions to supplement their progress. This will allow their counselor to get to know each individual better, assess each of their personal needs, and develop the very best treatment plan moving forward.
Couples therapy at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and via Online therapy. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you and your partner.
On average, couples attend couples therapy for 12 weeks. However, couples therapy may last longer or shorter, dependent on the couples’ needs, the challenges they’d like to work through, and the pace of their progress.
Relationships require work and are bound to face difficult issues. Couples counseling at Thriveworks Cherry Hill aims to foster mutual understanding, discuss necessary changes, and commit to those changes.
If your relationship faces challenges such as infidelity, financial issues, lack of communication, constant arguing, lack of intimacy, unrealistic expectations, or physical and mental health concerns, couples therapy can help.

Building a strong friendship within the relationship helps couples enjoy each other’s company and support each other. Couples counseling helps tackle tough circumstances as a team, rather than turning on each other.
Couples counseling starts with an assessment to understand personal and relationship histories. The counselor suggests changes and goal-setting strategies, and the couple works together to build constructive methods for problem-solving, improving communication, and expressing healthy behaviors.
